Hello!

Thanks for dropping by.

My career has encompassed practicing, researching, controlling, and teaching design across a range of contexts. This means that I have developed transferrable skills in strategic planning, analysing and modelling complex situations, establishing frames for viable and sustainable change, implementing and evaluating improvements, and communicating outcomes.

I am a researcher and designer who makes strategic and practical contributions across the problem-finding and problem-solving aspects of product, service, and policy development. Over 15 years, I have delivered tailored outputs that meet the demands of clients, collaborators, colleagues, and students across scenarios that include: designing cranio-maxillofacial implants; developing an ISO 13485 quality management system; providing in-hospital design support; planning robotically-assisted knee and hip replacements; developing new user-centred design techniques for artificial hearts; evaluating design strategy in medical device start-ups; and developing and teaching university courses about designing better experiences.

I specialise in generating insights, reframing problems, and creating propositions to address complex challenges. I believe that the design brief should be the middle of a design process, not the beginning. Please get in touch, to discuss future opportunities.
